Wes’ animation gathers 6,000 visits in two months
This past Christmas has seen Wes’ YouTube animation (First Night Of Christmas) gather over 6,000 new visits. To add to this the song has been used for events all over the globe including events in the USA, Slovenia, Hong Kong among other places.  The video has had 12,300 visits since it was added and has generated much interest (more details below).

Wes’ animation featured on the whychristmas? website
Wes’ animated video for the song “The First Night Of Christmas” is once again generating much interest on the
whychristmas? website. The site provides a focal point for all things Christmas from “trees”, to questions such as “why do we send Christmas cards”. Wes’ animation last year had over 6,000 visits and generated global interest - including being used in New York at a local church pageant.  The animation has also been seen on TV in the UK (UCB TV), Australia (ACN) and New Zealand (Shine). Wes song Santuary on NCM disc
Wes’ new song Sanctuary is to feature on the NCM industry disc. The song is one of several new songs written by Wes which at some point soon will hopefully appear on a new CD as yet untitled.  The CD is distributed to dj’s and journalist in the UK and has been a great tool for Christian musician to get their music heard on mainstream media.  The CD however is the last CD in it’s current format as it will re-branded and will be part of the Hot Disk family (for which there is currently a Country music disc).

Wes’ father Paul Davis passed away
It is is with much sadness to announce that Paul Davis (Wes’s father) has passed away after a short battle with cancer.  He will be greatly missed by all. Wes’ father was a well respected journalist, author, presenter and pastor and touched many lives with his ministry. He founded the New Music magazine, and was also a well respected radio presenter and DJ on BBC Three Counties Radio and BBC Radio Medway among others. Paul was also the pastor of Leighton Christian Fellowship, founder of the UKCMA & NCM disk and was also a writer of many books including official biographies for Pat Boone, George Hamilton IV, The Blackwood Brothers, and George Beverley Shea.

First Night of Christmas 6,200 visits
After the feature of Wes’ song “First Night Of Christmas” on the whychristmas website (link below) Wes has had around 6,000 new website hits on YouTube mainly over the Christmas period.  There has also been much interest around the world in using the animation at various events including USA, Australia, UK etc.  One event (complete with cast, vocalists angels, shepherds etc) was held in New York and was filmed and later added to YouTube and can be viewed here (and is well worth a look!).  It’s so great that the song is and will from year to year continue to be used.

Lou Lollio (USA) recording of Wes' song "Name Above All Names"
US Recording artist Lou Lollio has recently recorded Wes' praise and worship song "Name Above All Names". Lou's is gifted communicator, singer and worship leader based in LA. Lou has recorded Wes' song with top quality musicianship in a sensitive and anointed way which is familiar with Lou recordings. Lou himself lives in Beverley Hills, LA and attends the local Vineyard church which happens to be the very first Vineyard church.

 “First Night Of Christmas” on UCB TV

Wes’ animated video for the song “The First Night Of Christmas” will be showing on UCB TV from 10th December.  The animation/song features the full Christmas story complete with Camels and angels, wise men gathered to see the new born king.  The animation will also be featured on the Australian Christian Network and Shine TV in New Zealand.  You can view the video on YouTube.

Wes’ animated song to appear on UCB TV
This coming Christmas will see USB TV (and radio) use Wes’ video for his song “The First Night Of Christmas”.  The song will be used as the channel’s Christmas card movie which will play in between shows. The video (designed and animated by Wes) will also feature on sister stations around the globe including New Zealand, Australia among other places and will also feature on USB’s radio station which broadcasts in the UK on
Dab radio.

UKCMA Weekend highlights
This past year’s UK Chrisian Music Alliance weekend which featured Wes among many top artists including Yazz, Karen Lafferty, Rob Ash, The Steels, George Hamilton IV (among many others) was a great success and much blessed time for all who attended.  The two day event brought together artists of all different styles to share each other’s music and to encourage one another in ministry. 

As well as Wes and Sue singing and sharing, Wes also played percussion with Karen Lafferty (writer of the song “Seek Ye First The Kingdom Of God”, and providing keyboards for Yazz for the song “Jesus, Lover Of My Soul”. he also dueting with Hermann Lammers Meyer on “Small Packages”. As Wes states “it was such a great privilege to play along with such top musicians and to be greatly encouraged by many of my fellow Christian musicians”.

Wes is currently putting together a video for his song “The First Night Of Christmas”. The song (which is on Wes Christmas album “White Christmas”) is the nativity story set to music and has proved popular in many of Wes’ Christmas concerts.

Christian Resources Exhibition

Hermann Lammers Meyer recording of Wes’ song “Small Packages”

Hermann Lammers Meyer (recording artist and DJ from Germany) has recently recorded Wes’ Christmas song Small Packages.  This is the third recording of the song and features Hermann’s warm and thoughtful vocals and some nicely worked steel guitar playing. The song will shortly be featured on the upcoming NCM Christian Music industry cd.

Bobby Smith from Florida, USA has just recorded Wes' song "Home". The song "Home" is the third song which Bobby has recorded of Wes' and features top nashville session musicians. The song is country rock in style and suit's Bobby's punchy yet sensative vocals and has much drive and is perfect for radio play. The song is to feature on the Hot Disk country music industry cd which will see the song being sent all over the world to be played on various Country radio shows. The song will also feature on the NCM cd (Christian music industry cd)
so is overall likely to see much airplay in the coming months.

New Album - Stay In The BreezeStay In The Breeze cover
Wes' new album "Stay In The Breeze" is due to be released this coming March. The album features 8 new songs as well as covers of some great songs such as "Have I Told You Lately" (written by Van Morrison) and the classic hymn "My Song Is Love Unknown". Also featured playing on the album is Wes' wife Sue who provides some percussion and rain stick for the song "Creator King". The album is as Wes states "is a collection of songs about the Father's heart of love and compassion for us and His longing for us to stay in breeze of His presence". Wes to feature at upcoming UKCMA Awards
The UK Christian Music Association weekend which this year features Wes takes place in early March with a line up of many Christian artists including Jean Watson, Rob Ash, Matt Giles, Dave Clemo, Jerry Arhelger, George Hamilton IV among many others. The event promises to be a special time for everyone taking part - and no doubt plenty of music for people to enjoy.

Bobby Smith Recording of Wes' Christmas Song
USA recording artist Bobby Smith has recently recorded Wes' Christmas song "Small Packages". It's the third recording for the song following last year's recording by Bryan Chalker. The song is soon to be added to the Country Music "hotdisc" (promotional radio disc) so should have lots of airplay at Christmas. It is also due to be added to the "NCM" hotdisc for Christian music airplay

New Album in the pipeline
Wes' new album "Stay In The Breeze" is well under way production wise and should be available sometime later this year or early next year. The new album features a whole load of new songs by Wes' including "Name Above All Names" which is a new praise and worship song already being used by Wes. Other songs include the Van Morrison song "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" and the classic hymn "My Song Is Love Unknown".

Forthcoming Whitby Christian Music Festival
This coming May Wes will be performing at the Whitby festival. The event is organised by fellow Christian artist Paul Wheater and this year features George Hamilton IV among many other artists. This will be Wes' second appearance at the festival which has steadily build a big following over the past few years.

Small Packages recorded by Bryan Chalker
This past December saw the release of Bryan's new CD which features Wes' Christmas song Small Packages. The song has been well received and is on the Christmas NCM promotional CD.

Recording featured on new DVD

One of Wes' recordings "There is a candle" is to be used on a DVD for the missionary organisation "Action Overseas". The song was according to AOS a beautiful song and just right to use with the words simple and clear. The DVD will be used as a promotional tool and is shortly to be released.

Recent concert in Uckfield with
George Hamiton IV

The recent concert on the 9th April in Uckfield with George Hamilton IV was fun and from all accounts very well received. It was also the first time Wes had performed with George IV in around 8 years and this time had the added bonus of having Sue (Wes' wife) giving testimony. "Small Packages" soon to be recorded

Bryan Chalker will shortly be entering the Studio to start work on his new Christmas recording which will feature Wes' Christmas song "Small Packages". The song (if you want a preview) is on the Christmas CD by Wes called "The Gift". The song should hopefully feature instruments including autoharp, fiddle and Dobro and will presumably be available for next Christmas - which should come round quickly if this year is anything to go by.

Upcoming Christmas concert

You can catch Wes at Leighton Christian Fellowship on 4th December at 6.00pm. The concert will feature songs from Wes' new Christmas cd "The Gift" as well as songs from his previous Christmas cd called "White Christmas". The concert promises to be great fun and should be very good preparation as we enter the Christmas season. Autumn tour of Northern Ireland

The recent tour of Northern Ireland was a fruitful and overall great and blessed time. The tour was organised by Colin Elliot (from the excellent band "Inside Out") and featured dates in Lisburn, Portadown and Donachloney. The dates were varied in content too including taking a school essembly in Lisburn - complete with fun songs and actions. Many thanks to Colin for his hard work in organising these events.

US Contemporary Christian music artist Bobby Smith has recorded Wes' song

US recording artist Bobby Smith has recently recorded Wes' song "This Husband Loves His Wife" ready for his new album. The song itself is a love song which is in essence an encouragement for husbands to love their wives as it says in the bible. The recording is due for release in the USA during July 2005 and takes of with a big launch concert in the US. The recording is also due to be featured on the Country Music industry promotional cd "Country Hot Disc" so is sure to have much worldwide airplay.

Wes' song featured on Dove award winning recording!

Some amazing news from the USA's Gospel Music Awards. The recent spanish praise album (featuring one of Wes' songs) by PraiseStreet has won a Gospel Music Association Dove award in the best "Spanish Language Album of the Year" category! The album features the Jerry Arhelger/Wes Davis song called "Jesus, You're The Joy" (translatted into Spanish as "Cristo, Gozo das a mi vida"). Recent concert at "The Key" in Ipswich

The recent concert at "The Key" in Central Ipswich was well received and a real blessing to play. The venue was until recently a pub but was bought recently by the local churches and is now used as a venue for Christian events and a daily coffee bar.
